Hello,
As the Program Chair for the 49th ABSEL conference, I have some news to share with the ABSEL community and conference participants.
The ABSEL Executive Team has been monitoring the protocols various universities have established for returns to the spring semester as well as the accompanying policies affecting faculty travel and budgetary restrictions. Many of you have reached out to the ABSEL Board regarding your unique situation in light of these policies.
Weighing these individual situations and in the interest of giving you the best experience at the conference, the ABSEL executive board met last week to discuss options for the 2022 conference.
In the original Call for Papers, I had indicated that the conference would be an in-person experience provided conditions are conducive. Given the number of authors and board members who have informed us of their unique situations that prevent them from attending in person and given the various restrictions for travel (either institutional or governmental), the board has decided to move this conference to a fully virtual format for 2022.
As such, the 2022 ABSEL Conference will again return to the online format for all participants. As last year, the registration fee for the conference will be $95 for all participants ($120 for Conference + Pre-conference Workshop), $45 for full time students (Pre-conference Workshop is free for Full time Students).
The conference Registration system is OPEN and registrations will continue at the same rate until the start of the Conference (Wed, Mar 30,2022).
I hope the entire community of ABSEL and all contributors for the conference support us on this decision and will continue to engage with ABSEL as you have been doing in the past.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions or need additional clarifications.
Thank you
ABSELutely yours
